bullet To provide a fun, instructive and positive environment where children can learn sportsmanship and the fundamentals of a sport(s) along with other life skills that is consistent with the teachings of the St. Clement Roman Catholic community.
bulletTo give as many students the opportunities to both learn and participate in a variety of sporting experiences that complement their classroom learning – maximum participation is encouraged.
bulletNo child will be excluded from participating on any team due to the inability to pay the required fee.

Program Structure

bulletGoverned by St. Clement Athletic Committee – all volunteer
bulletMix of Team/Individual Sports – Coed
bullet14 Teams – Grade 3 through High School with over 150 participants
bulletOver 30 volunteer Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Assistants

Grade Level Direction

bulletGrade 3-4 – exposure to a sport’s rules and skill development with an opportunity for significant participation
bulletGrade 5-6 – increase skill development, with increase emphasis on real game strategies and tactics
bulletGrade 7-8 – very competitive with preparation for scholastic sports environment
bulletGrade 9 -12 – High School students (Non High School Basketball Player)

Program Situation

bulletMajority of income is from fund raising.
bulletFees cover basic program – league registration fees only
bulletFund Raiser – covers uniforms, facility rentals, coaching preparation/background checks

Program Needs

bullet Facility Rentals – gym
bulletTeam uniforms, equipment
bulletCoaches preparation/training –Rutgers Safety clinic fees, First Aid classes (CPR, AED)
